Wollemi Pine in the Triangle Garden, Maida Vale
In the wild this is a very rare tree, only discovered in New South Wales in 1994 and with only a hundred trees. It has now been cultivated in nurseries and is available for sale; having a distribution of trees in gardens will help ensure the survival of the species.

Stucco grandeur
One of the mansions on Randolph Road, Maida Vale. In Victorian times, this and nearby residential streets were favoured areas for the aristocratic and wealthy of London to set up their mistresses. (For obvious reasons, at that time, it became known as 'Randy Road'.) Present day owners of such properties are bound by covenants requiring them to maintain or replace the vulnerable white rendering every five years.
