Former Hanwell Bus Garage (2)
Taken in March 1993 just before closure that month, this photo shows a Renault 50 Midibus with Wright 28-seater bodywork dating from 1990 on route E3(Greenford to Chiswick via Hanwell, Acton and Turnham Green). Behind it is a Metrobus double-decker on route 207(Shepherd's Bush to Uxbridge via Acton, Ealing, Hanwell and Southall). The Metrobuses replaced the last of the Routemaster buses at Hanwell Garage in March 1987. The garage and offices were demolished in 1996 and a shopping centre with car park now occupies the site.

Former Hanwell Bus Garage (1)
Situated in The Broadway W7 3SS, this garage opened as a tram depot in July 1901, with tramcars running between Shepherd's Bush and Uxbridge. Trolleybuses then began working on route 607 between the two places in November 1936, and also worked on route 655 between Acton and Clapham Junction via Brentford and Hammersmith. The electric vehicles were replaced by Routemaster motorbuses in November 1960. The wording Hanwell Garage and CentreWest London Buses Ltd can be seen on the garage offices.
