Hanwell Station
Some effort has been made to preserve a Great Western Railway feel at this suburban station. This large station name board is in the correct style (and gives the full traditional name of the station) but the colours seem to have been lost.

Hanwell railway station, Greater London, 2011
Opened in 1877 by the Great Western Railway on its line from London Paddington to Reading, this station replaced an 1838 one some 250m further west.

Up 'Capitals United Express' approaching Hanwell & Elthorne station
View westward, towards Reading and the West; ex-GWR Paddington to the West main line. This train, which left Swansea at 06.30, was due into Paddington at 10.55. The locomotive is 'Castle' 4-6-0 No. 5066 'Sir Felix Pole' (built 7/37 as 'Wardour Castle', renamed 4/56 on the death of the former (1921-29) General Manager of the GWR, withdrawn 9/62.
