Hanwell railway station
A Grade II listed building, accessed from Campbell Road, and not now from Station Approach! It was built between 1875 and 1878.

Hanwell 1st railway station, Greater London
Opened in 1838 by the Great Western Railway on its line from London Paddington to Reading, this station closed in 1877 when it was replaced by the current station some 250m east.
View west from the second station towards Southall and Reading. At the time the first station existed, there were only two broad gauge tracks here, to the left of the image. The two parallel platforms were located about where the "90" (miles per hour) sign is, at the point where Wharncliffe viaduct crosses Station Road. The station has moved, the road name hasn't!

Up 'Capitals United Express' approaching Hanwell & Elthorne station
View westward, towards Reading and the West; ex-GWR Paddington to the West main line. This train, which left Swansea at 06.30, was due into Paddington at 10.55. The locomotive is 'Castle' 4-6-0 No. 5066 'Sir Felix Pole' (built 7/37 as 'Wardour Castle', renamed 4/56 on the death of the former (1921-29) General Manager of the GWR, withdrawn 9/62.
