Ealing buildings [32]
The Neo-Gothic Ealing Town Hall was opened in 1888 replacing an earlier and inadequate property. Listed, grade II, with details at: https://historicengland.org.uk/listing/the-list/list-entry/1358791 Ealing is one of the seven major towns in the London Borough of Ealing. A rural village until communications with London got better with the improvements to the road to Oxford (later Uxbridge Road) in the 18th century and culminating with the coming of the railway in 1838. Ealing expanded greatly with suburban development during the 19th century and became known as the "Queen of the Suburbs" due to its greenery and because it was halfway between city and country. Ealing became a municipal borough in 1901. Growth continued throughout the 20th century and Ealing became part of a modern London borough in 1965.

Ealing Town Hall, New Broadway
Opened in 1889, designed in the gothic style by Charles Jones. A description of this area in Bob Speel's web page "A Cultural Walk along Ealing Broadway" includes "A good Gothic building, with studied irregular skyline profile, with spire, small turrets, little cupolas etc. First floor windows with some decor, e.g. west end tower with two carved beasts. Various other decorations are there on close inspection, including rather ornate terracotta leaf and flower panels on the rear."

See Image for 2006 photo before much of the cinema was demolished leaving only the façade, there was a long delay from closure to rebuilding.
