Ealing houses [18]
This large and attractive early 19th century house, The Lawn, Ealing Green, has been converted into flats. Ealing is one of the seven major towns in the London Borough of Ealing. A rural village until communications with London got better with the improvements to the road to Oxford (later Uxbridge Road) in the 18th century and culminating with the coming of the railway in 1838. Ealing expanded greatly with suburban development during the 19th century and became known as the "Queen of the Suburbs" due to its greenery and because it was halfway between city and country. Ealing became a municipal borough in 1901. Growth continued throughout the 20th century and Ealing became part of a modern London borough in 1965.

Ealing buildings [20]
Built in the early 19th century, The White House at Ealing Green was much altered circa 1931 when it was converted into the head office of Ealing Studios. Listed, grade II, with details at: https://historicengland.org.uk/listing/the-list/list-entry/1389250 Ealing Film Studios are the oldest surviving film studios in England, especially in regard to English film-making history. The first studios were erected here in 1908, and the site was rebuilt with new studios between 1931 and 1934. Between 1938 and 1958 the films made here ensured the studios' place as the maker of a distinctively English kind of film. Ealing is one of the seven major towns in the London Borough of Ealing.
