The Brentham Club, Meadvale Road, Ealing
Built as an institute for the Brentham Garden Estate. The building dates from 1911, is Grade II listed, the design by architect G Lister Sutcliffe.

Sports and social club in Meadvale Road with a 16 acre site of sports facilities beside the River Brent. http://www.brenthamclub.co.uk/ The small green plaque on the tower wall records that tennis champion Fred Perry played here 1919-1935.

The Brentham Club
Brentham Garden Suburb was the first garden suburb to be built on ‘Co-partnership’ principles and was an inspiration for the later, larger and more famous Hampstead Garden Suburb .It was designed to a plan by the leading garden city architects Barry Parker and Raymond Unwin, with houses, mostly in the Arts and Crafts style. In 1969 Brentham Garden Suburb was designated a conservation area. The Brentham Society was formed in the same year to support and maintain the character of the area. The small green plaque on the wall says "FRED PERRY 1909-1995 Tennis Champion played here 1919-1935" It was in 1934, 1935 and 1936 that Fred Perry won successive Wimbledon gentlemens'singles titles.
