Flood Gates on the Car Park
At first glance these black doors look like an ordinary set of gates, but they are designed to be watertight in case of flooding which is a danger along here.

Netheravon Rd
Netheravon Rd is just south of the Great West Road at Chiswik very close to the river at Chiswick Eyot. Netheravon, like many of the north south roads in this area it has been cut in two by the main road.

House on Chiswick Mall
There were plans to make a restaurant out of Heron House, which stands quaintly at the junction with Chiswick Lane South, but so far they have come to nothing.

Chiswick Mall, seen from the muddy shore of the Eyot
A view from near the draw dock, once used for loading and unloading barges. I don't know the proper term for the wooden 'spikes' in the foreground, but they are clearly part of anti-erosion measures.
