Chiswick: Walpole House and Chiswick Mall
Walpole House, which is the one on the left with the three sets of windows facing the street, followed by a set facing the photographer, and finally another two sets facing the street, is a Grade I Listed Building. Barbara Villiers, Daniel O'Connell and William Makepeace Thackeray are all thought to have lived here at one time, and Miss Pinkerton's Academy in "Vanity Fair" may have been based on Thackeray's knowledge of the house. The road is Chiswick Mall, and the River Thames is just to the right.
