Turnham Green Station
Turnham Green station was opened on 1 January 1869 by the London and South Western Railway (L&SWR) on a new branch line to Richmond built from the West London Joint Railway starting north of Addison Road station - now Kensington (Olympia).
The line ran through Shepherd's Bush and Hammersmith via a now unused curve. The next stop towards Central London was Grove Road station in Hammersmith (also now closed).
Today, Turnham Green is the junction for District line services to Richmond and Ealing Broadway. Unusually, it is also served by Piccadilly line trains at the start and finish of the day.

Piccadilly line train passing through Turnham Green
A train of 1973 Tube stock, working a westbound Piccadilly line service to Heathrow Airport (terminal 4 and terminals 1, 2, & 3) passes through Turnham Green station without stopping. Between Barons Court and Acton Town, the Piccadilly line uses the middle pair of four tracks, with the District line using the outer pair. Piccadilly line trains run non stop between Hammersmith and Acton Town, despite at least some stations having platforms they can use, except early in the morning and late in the evening, when they stop additionally at Turnham Green.
