Acton cottage hospital, W3
One of many buildings donated by and named after the philanthropist John Passmore Edwards, this is the only surviving building left of the Acton Cottage Hospital in Gunnersbury Lane, it closed in 2001. The site continues to serve the local community. The central building has been restored and serves as a multi-faith centre, but all the other buildings have been replaced by the new Acton Care Home, which opened in 2003 for care of the elderly.
