End of the road?
Perryn Road where it used to meet Western Avenue, but like all the rat-runs this side of the A40 were blocked off years ago and now thanks to the ongoing roadworks over the other side of the wall almost bricked up as well.

Footbridge across the A40
The A40 (behind the wall) is so busy here, with heavy traffic thundering through, that it would be suicide to attempt to cross it here on the level, so this footbridge is provided, which leads from the northern end of Friar's Place Lane, this road being blanked off here.

Spent tubes after New Year's Eve fireworks
On New Year's Day a footbridge over the A40 had bottles and glasses left by revellers the night before, on the steps up to the bridge they had left the spent fireworks from their display, the groups are 126, 36 and 19 shots.

Two views from the footbridge
This footbridge over the A40 gives good views over London, as someone in the local council has realized. The placard shows a view directed somewhat more to the left than the current view - only the corner of the placard left-hand near house is seen in the main view.

Footbridge over the A40 at East Acton
The rather clever structure in the foreground is a combination of steps and disabled access ramps.

Pedestrian footbridge over Western Avenue, Acton
View east from the end of Perryn Road. As part of work to replace two railway bridges, this footbridge will be replaced by traffic lights and a pedestrian/bicycle "toucan" crossing to make the crossing easier.

Infill house, corner of The Approach with A40 road
The new-looking lawn and gravel path beside the A40 lead to a building containing 14 and 16 The Approach, fitted in behind 18 The Approach. View from footbridge. 14 and 16 The Approach would have been houses here before Western Avenue was built, and widened to dual carriageway. The name "The Approach" refers to the previous use of the area as a golf course.
