Acton Town Hall
As Acton is now part of the Borough of Ealing, a separate Town Hall is superfluous. This is the 1939 extension on High Street, designed in a restrained classical style, with scandinavian influences, by the Borough Engineer and Architect's department. It is planned to reopen the building with various facilities including a public library. Listed Grade II.

Acton Borough coat of arms
On the old Town Hall http://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/2767361. The arms portray a book and gearwheel to represent education and industry, the three scimitars of Middlesex and an oak tree, from which the name Acton is said to be derived. The motto translates Let Acton Flourish.

The library is listed; http://list.english-heritage.org.uk/resultsingle.aspx?uid=1390680&searchtype=mapsearch makes it fairly clear that I haven't captured the most beautiful facade. This view looks up Winchester Street to the T junction with the High Street.
