Houses in Queen's Drive
Ian Nairn's description of Queen's Drive in Nairn's London (1966) cannot be improved upon: "Queens Drive is strung between two geographical improbabilities called North Ealing and West Acton. This is a half-timbered square mile, and marvellous nonsense. Go and see!" This view looks across Queen's Drive, with Monks Drive on the right.

"Wrong" gate and fence in conservation area
One of the characteristics of this conservation area is the use of wooden gates and privet hedges. Before the area became a conservation area some gates had been replaced, some hedges had been replaced by fences. See Image for the original type of gate and hedge.
