Princes Square, Bayswater
Bayswater's street layout can be confusing; the address of these houses is Princes Square, although they are not part of the square itself; this terrace leads seamlessly into Kensington Gardens Square, all of which is in effect the western extension of Porchester Gardens.

Looking along from Kensington Gardens Square to Princes Square. These once grand houses were built in the late 1850s; most of them are nowadays multi-occupancy or have been converted into tourist hotels.

Moscow Road, Bayswater SW6
Saint Sophia's is the Greek Orthodox Cathedral found at the junction of Moscow Road and Ilchester Gardens, Bayswater. The first liturgy was celebrated here in June 1879. In 1922 the Greek Ecumenical Patriarchate chose St Sophia as a Cathedral of the Metropolis of Thyateira and Great Britain, encompassing all Orthodox Christians in the British Isles and Malta. During WWII when London became the seat of the Greek government in exile St Sophia's became the cathedral of the Greek nation. It was bombed during the Blitz but then repaired. It is of a Byzantine Revival design by the English architect John Oldrid Scott (1841-1913), the son of Sir George Gilbert Scott and his wife Caroline, née Oldrid. His father was the English Gothic Revival architect, designer of the Midland Grand Hotel, St Pancras Station and many other edifices.
