Corus Hotel, 1-7 Lancaster Gate
This hotel appears to have been created from 4 or 5 elegant houses. The interior shows no sign of that, and the rear of the building is entirely of the 20th century.

The Swan at No.66 Bayswater Road is the only pub overlooking Kensington Gardens. It is situated near the exit from the Italianate Gardens area of Kensington Gardens and Elms Mews can be found on its right. It was built in the early 1600s and history has it that prisoners in transit were allowed a final drink here before being taken to the hanging tree at Marble Arch. Also, that this is where the origin of the sayings 'one for the road’ (i.e. the prisoner’s final drink) and 'on the wagon’ (the form of transport used), stem from.
