Shell, Bayswater Road. This photograph is part of a series taken in homage to the American artist Ed Ruscha's 1963 publication of 'Twentysix Gasoline Stations'. More properly known as filling stations in the UK, I am attempting to photograph as many as possible to mark the sixty year anniversary.

Plaque on former base of Czechoslovak government-in-exile, Bayswater Road, London
At the corner of Bayswater Road and Inverness Terrace. As noted on the plaque, this building was the home of the Czechoslovak government-in-exile 1940-1945, and the base from which the 1942 assassination of the prominent Nazi Reinhard Heydrich was planned.
