Middle Eastern Restaurant
Edgware Road and Seymour Street. If you continue up the Edgware Road from here you will encounter several dozen such eateries, bars and food shops, especially Lebanese.
From the 19th century Ottoman Empire to the 20th century conflicts in Egypt, Lebanon and Iran, political unrest has caused an exodus of Arabs to this part of London such that nicknames like "Little Beirut" and "Little Cairo" have been applied.
Public use of the Hookah or Shisha is common here, by both sexes, but is in conflict with Britain's smoking restrictions. The sweet smell of Water Pipes pervades the pavements, especially at night.

Asian cuisine - Edgware Road
One of numerous eateries in the area catering for Middle and Far Eastern diners.
It is not uncommon for 'hookahs' to be provided for customers to smoke, and their heavy, sweet scent often pervades the street.
