Water Gardens, Edgware Road
At the behest of the Church Commissioners, in 1957 Anthony Minoprio drew up a master plan for an upmarket residential development west of Edgware Road and south of Sussex Gardens. The Water Gardens is one element of that master plan - three bold towers of strikingly patterned concrete linked by lower blocks enclosing landscaped gardens and water features. It was built in 1961-66 to the designs of Trehearne, Norman, Preston & Partners.

Portsea Mews
Porstsea Mews, tucked away off the west side of Portsea Place, is dominated by Handman & Collis Ltd, an upmarket garage business. The headlights of a Rolls Royce peep round the corner.
