Hotel, Harrow Road
I'm a sucker for towers but this must be one of Richard Seifert & Partners's dreariest. Built 1972, the lower extension by Igal Yawetz, 1986-90 for the Metropole Hotel. There is nothing to relieve the stodginess. It is one of a cluster of four towers at the east end of Westway.

Milestone in the entrance to the Hilton Metropole hotel in the Edgware Road
This face reads Half a Mile From Tyburn Gate. the stone was once located near Star Street, exactly that distance north along Edgware Road.

Joe Strummer Subway, under Edgware Road
Running to the left just off the photograph is the Westway, referenced by the Clash in several songs, so there is an appropriateness in the setting, even if I might not myself choose a concrete subway as a memorial.
