'The Pavilion', at the corner of Wood Lane and North Pole Road
My recollection is that until about 15 years ago this pub was called The North Pole - with a distinctive pub sign showing a polar bear. However Google Earth shows that there was until recently another pub called the 'North Pole' a few hundred yards further east. I can't think of any other instance where a pub has undergone a change of name, only for the name to pop up elsewhere . . . Have I got it all wrong?
