It's on the map as a real road, but it didn't look too inviting at this point (the sign says private property) so I turned round here.

Hangars at Denham Aerodrome
According to Wikipedia https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Denham_Aerodrome#History there are records of flying from here since the 1900s. The airfield was used in both world wars and is still busy with training, filming and helicopter maintenance.

Closely mown field
Green in the shade, brown in the sun, less than five miles away at Northolt a shade temperature of 32 deg C was reached that afternoon. This is part of the grounds of Denham Grove, formerly Durdent Court, now a hotel with function facilities.
