Denham: Willowbank Village
Willowbank Village started off in the 1920s as a collection of small holiday chalets on an island between the River Colne and the Grand Union Canal for Londoners wanting to enjoy the countryside. A few of the original chalets remain today, but most have been demolished and replaced by much larger permanently occupied homes. This is the village green at the centre with Willow Crescent West to the left and Willow Crescent East to the right. Although the village is part of Denham from a local government area point of view, it is much closer to the built-up area of Uxbridge than Denham.

New Denham: Tiger Cubs Indian brasserie and the A4020 road
This was formerly the Dog and Duck public house, and is certainly shown as such on the Ordnance Survey map of 1875, on the former A40 road in the place formerly known as Denham Newtown (also from the OS map of 1875). The Tiger Cubs' website is here http://www.tiger-cubs.co.uk/main.asp

New Denham: A4020 Oxford Road
This was formerly the A40 through Uxbridge, linking London and Oxford. Two corporate giants advertise their presence while a third, Texaco, is operating on the other side of the road. Here you would have thought we have two garages in direct competition with another across the street vying for the motorist's business. Esso are selling diesel at 122.9p per litre, Texaco at 124.9p per litre, yet in Watford, maybe 15 kilometres away as the crow flies, it was on sale at 117.9p per litre at Shell. Draw your own conclusions.

New Denham is a brash sort of place and should I think be renamed.
