Cowley: Peachey Lane (2)
Anyone unfamiliar with the area might question the presence here on Peachey Lane of this hill and the sharp bend in the road. It is however the location where the former Great Western Railway branch line from West Drayton to Uxbridge passed under the road. The railway opened in 1856 and closed in 1962, and today virtually all trace of it has gone. Image is visible on the skyline between the trees.

Fray's River at Cowley Lock
The river crosses the canal at the lock. This is the view looking down from the garden of the Toll House. I am not sure whether the river is piped under the canal, or is fed by spillways from the canal.
