Bus on Baker's Road, Uxbridge (1)
A Renault-Dodge S75/Wright Nim-bus, recently transferred to Beeline from CentreWest, loads outside Uxbridge station before heading off to Slough and Cippenham. These were truly dreadful buses; in particular, the ride quality for passengers sitting on the back seat had to be experienced to be believed.

Bus on Baker's Road, Uxbridge (2)
A Mercedes-Benz 709D/Plaxton Beaver of The Shires (as Luton & District had recently been renamed), carrying Chiltern Rover branding for that operator's services in and around High Wycombe, waits to head off to its hometown.

Green and red at Uxbridge Station ? 1972
By 1972, London Transport's green country buses fleet had been passed to the newly formed National Bus Company, although the London Transport image was maintained for a time. The main difference was change of colour of the tween-decks stripe from cream to yellow. By this time too, it was becoming less common to find red and green versions of London's traditional RT buses alongside each other.
This is one of a series of views featuring buses in the 60s, 70s, and 80s.

Uxbridge Bus Station and Garage
As it was in 1979 before the addition of a modern office block. Common London bus types of the time include a Daimler Fleetline on the 207 route and AEC Swifts on the 204. Behind is the garage area where buses not in service were parked - at least one, with the engine cover open, was being cannibalised for spares. There is also a London Country AEC Swift, adding a touch of green to the scene.
