The Religious Society of Friends, known as the Quakers, have been worshipping in Uxbridge since 1658 and in this building since 1818. The Meeting House is on Belmont Road at its junction with York Road. Meetings are held every Sunday at 10.30 am.

A 1976 view of buses between duties next to Uxbridge Station. Vehicles are, on the 98 route an AEC Swift and on the 223 an AEC Regal IV. The Regal, class RF in London Transport terms, was a very successful design entering service in 1951 and remaining in use for up to 30 years - a large number of these vehicles are preserved. The AEC Swift was less successful, entering service in 1970. Many were withdrawn as their major overhauls became due in the late 1970's. This Swift, SMS685, with withdrawn in 1978 whilst RF627 went in 1977 - 8 years of service and 26 years of service respectively.

As it was in 1979 before the addition of a modern office block. Common London bus types of the time include a Daimler Fleetline on the 207 route and AEC Swifts on the 204. Behind is the garage area where buses not in service were parked - at least one, with the engine cover open, was being cannibalised for spares. There is also a London Country AEC Swift, adding a touch of green to the scene.

A Mercedes-Benz 709D/Plaxton Beaver of The Shires (as Luton & District had recently been renamed), carrying Chiltern Rover branding for that operator's services in and around High Wycombe, waits to head off to its hometown.
