Built as the Cherry Tree, a classic Watney's pub, its name was changed to the Fox & Pheasant in recent years Image and it has now sadly gone the way of so many pubs nowadays.

The Fox & Pheasant public house
A typical mid-C20th Watney's pub, originally called the Cherry Tree, named after the cherry orchards upon which the large council housing estate was built to the east of here. It was revamped some years ago and renamed, once again losing a historically relevant pub name.
