Greenford: Ferrymead Gardens
Prior to the residential development of Greenford this was just a track leading off Oldfield Road to the long lost Manor Farm. Today this part of Ferrymead Gardens is a short section of dual carriageway outside Image, the spire of which is visible on the right.

Greenford: Church of the Holy Cross (New Church)
This church was designed as a replacement for Image which had become too small for the rapidly growing population of Greenford in the 1930s. Construction of the Grade II* Listed Building commenced in 1939 and was completed, despite interruption during the war, by 1941. Its tithe barn style was designed by Sir Albert Richardson. The Old Church was closed in 1951 and its demolition was considered. However its historic and architectural significance were recognised and it was reprieved, being reconsecrated in 1956. Today it is used for services where the congregation is anticipated to be less than 100, while the New Church is used for larger events.

Church of the Holy Cross
A new church built adjacent to the existing parish church of Greenford Magna between 1939 and 1941. Designed by Sir Albert Richardson, construction of the church was overseen by the Rector, Father Donald Harris who served from 1936 to 1945. Fortunately it was decided to retain the original church - visible behind and to the right of the new building - and both are currently consecrated. The new church is designated as a multi-purpose building and can therefore be used for dance and the arts as well as worship.
