The Black Horse - inn sign
An apt touch, showing a canal horse, as the pub is right on the canal. It shows a pleasure boat with full cabin being towed from an awkward point on the bow, very unlikely, unless it is being rescued from an engine failure.

Greenford, Black Horse
2016 Good Beer Guide-listed pub on Oldfield Lane North; Brewer's Tudor style on two levels. Front bar with eating and drinking areas left, front and downstairs; wooden beams, games machines, background music. The garden overlooks Grand Union Canal (Paddington Branch). Cask ales on offer at my visit: Fuller's ESB, London Pride.

The Black Horse, Greenford
The ambulance and a paramedic car arrived not long before I did, but it was not clear what had happened. A convenient pub for the Grand Union Canal.

Black Horse Bridge 15, Paddington Arm, Grand Union Canal
Although it has been replaced, this was the site of one of the original bridges. It carries Oldfield Lane, now a minor motor road but which was part of the original road from Greenford to Sudbury. The Black Horse public house adjoins the bridge, and Greenford Central Line station is just over 1/4 mile south from here.
