A40 - Polish War Memorial junction bridges
In contrast to those at Target roundabout, one mile east, these are single-span structures with elegantly curved abutments. The transition to Hillingdon borough marks an end to the 50mph restriction. The road ahead is now motorway standard all the way to central Scotland.

Polish War Memorial, Northolt
This commemorates the 2165 Polish airmen who lost their lives in World War 2 fighting alongside the Western Allies. RAF Northolt was the main base for the Polish fighter squadrons. The memorial is by the Western Avenue/West End Road roundabout, outside the airfield.
