Northolt: The Greenwood
As far as large suburban housing estate pubs go The Greenwood ranked on the massive scale. Built in the late 1930s by Courage it also had hotel space upstairs, a large function room, and an off-sales shop. Retaining many of its original 1930s fixtures and fittings, both externally and internally, the building was listed Grade II as recently as July 2009, and less than a year before it closed in June 2010. Given that it was no longer commercially viable operating solely as a public house, plans currently submitted to the London Borough of Ealing propose to convert it into a restaurant and guest house.
