Church Court in the rain
This narrow side street off George Street (far end in this photo) leads to the parish church behind the photographer Image It was raining heavily - the first downpour after weeks of drought in London - so this was my last photo of the session.

Tower of St Mary Magdalene's church
The tower is at the west end of the church Image According to the parish website http://www.richmondteamministry.org/stmary/history, "Christians have worshipped on the site of the present church of St Mary Magdalene for nearly 800 years - the first chapel having been built in around 1220. The church was entirely rebuilt in the period 1487-1506 ... the only survival from this time is the two bottom sections of the tower (up to the clock chamber). The third stage (the bell chamber) was added in 1624 and the whole re-faced in flint to match the new east end building in 1904."
