Shop by Richmond Bridge
This block replaced a fairly similar one a couple of decades ago. The main difference was a terraced garden built on the river bank which is crammed with people during the summer.

Old Milestone by the A305, Bridge Street, Richmond
Carved stone post by the A305, in parish of RICHMOND UPON THAMES (RICHMOND UPON THAMES District), Bridge Street, Richmond, on approach to bridge, East bank, mounted at Southeast end of parapet to the bridge, adjoining inn and gardens, on South side of road. Erected by a Bridge Trust in the 18th century.

Richmond Bridge Boathouses
There are several of these arched riverside businesses in Richmond, but many are now given over to arts and crafts shops, etc. Up the stairs are the Pitcher & Piano restaurant and an Italianate building with tower.

Tower House by Richmond Bridge
This rear-view of Tower House was taken at a time when the whole riverside site was being cleared for development in 1985, having stood derelict for some time beforehand. Tower House itself, and some of the riverside facades were retained as part of the new development.

The Drebbel
Reconstruction of a wooden submarine which was oar-powered! This reconstruction proved itself in the Thames. It now sits in an enclosed yard by Richmond bridge.
