Grand Union Canal bridge 209a - Augustus Close
Augustus Close crosses the canal, then (off to the left of the photo) is on a bridge over The Ham at its junction with Brent Way. This stretch of the canal wiggles around following the original course of the River Brent. Augustus Close is a new road to the housing developments and marina around Brentford Dock.

This must be No 50724, Length : 38.5 metres ( 126 feet 4 inches ) - Beam : 4.99 metres ( 16 feet 4 inches ) - Draft : 0.9 metres ( 2 feet 11 inches ) - probably so big it can't get much further up the canal.

The boats nearest the camera are wide beam, Draak (no46874) and Courage. The outer of two narrowboats beyond is Gilgie (515941). The footbridge beyond is 209b taking the towpath across into the Augustus Close housing estate.
