Moorings at Brentford Basin
Narrowboats and houseboats moored at the north-western end of the Brentford Basin. Beyond, a Southwest Trains service crosses the Grand Union Canal en-route to Waterloo Station. On the left of the photo a covered wharf bears witness to the Brentford Basin's past as a port whilst the modern Glaxo Smith Kline building illustrates the changing face of industry within the area - no longer a freight hub but a supplier of hi-tech services. It also advertises the company's involvement with the 2012 London Olympics as Laboratory Service provider.
