Poster on West side of Alfa Laval building.
View looking up from Brook Lane by the end of York Road. The building is derelict awaiting redevelopment and is being used as a giant poster site by the M4 motorway. Words at top and bottom are: "The Great West Road the Golden Mile of art deco architecture". See also Image

Giant poster on former Alfa Laval building
The building is empty. A major development of apartments has been proposed but not accepted. In the mean time the building is a huge poster site beside the M4. At the top of the building is wording: "The Great West Road - Golden Mile of Art Deco architecture". The green facing and windows are painted on fabric covering the building. The building in 1987 is shown in Image

2009 and the Alfa Laval building is still empty
This huge structure, also seen here Imageand Image, is still derelict and only the advertisement has changed, this one almost giving the impression that it's possible to fly right through the building. It also seems as if the block has been given an artificial Art Deco style facing at some point to draw attention to the authentic examples of Art Deco architecture in the vicinity. The giant company Alfa Laval started when a young Swedish engineer, Gustaf de Laval, invented a centrifugal cream separator in 1877. The company is now a leading producer of specialized products and solutions used to heat, cool, separate and transport a wide range of fluids. Photograph taken from the elevated motorway.

Advert on the side of an office block, Brentford
The block appears to be disused, and presumably is making a good revenue from the advertising rather than rental
