Scene at Terminal 5
Opened in 2008, the main Terminal 5 building is the largest free-standing structure in the United Kingdom. Terminal 5 is currently used exclusively by British Airways and Iberia. Prior to March 2012, the terminal was used exclusively by British Airways. The terminal is designed to ultimately handle 35 million passengers a year. This view looks from the passenger pick up area (on the outside next to the top floor) across the loading area to a plane taking off on the southern runway. The corner of Terminal 5 can just be seen on the left and beyond that in the distance is the Cargo Terminal.
