Airbus at Heathrow Airport
This one is actually a bus rather than an aircraft. Airbus was a brand name for a small group of bus services, operated latterly by London United, providing an express service between central London and Heathrow Airport. This is one of the Alexander Royale bodied Volvo Olympians bought specifically for these services, which had very few seats downstairs in order to provide plenty of luggage space, operating service A1 to Victoria Coach Station. I cannot remember when Airbus disappeared, but I have a feeling its demise was brought on by the opening of the main line rail link to the airport.

North east end of central bus station, Heathrow Airport
One of the British Airports Authority's unusual Berkhof bodied Dennis Lances, used at the time on car park shuttle services, is visible in the centre. On the left, a Jetlink liveried Volvo B10M/Plaxton Interurban lays over before heading for Norwich via Stansted Airport.

Bus and coach station, Heathrow
Most of the stops are for coaches, off to the left. Local buses call at the stops straight ahead, and users have to cross the pedestrian crossing to get there. At the moment the place is cluttered up with coaches waiting to get on their stands.

Heathrow Terminals 1, 2, 3 tube station
The station opened as Heathrow Central on 16 December 1977 as the final phase of the Piccadilly Line's extension from Hounslow West to the airport.
With the development of the airport's new Terminal 4 underway for which a separate Underground station would be provided, the station was renamed Heathrow Central Terminals 1, 2, 3 on 3 September 1983. The station gained its present name on 12 April 1986, the same day that services began at Heathrow Terminal 4.
