Hanworth Road and 210 Treaty Lodge, Hounslow
Looking across Hanworth Road towards Treaty Lodge, the former HQ of the 8th Battalion, Middlesex Regiment (Duke of Cambridge's Own) with the drill hall behind. The stonework above the door carries the Prince of Wales feathers, 'Ich Dien', 'The Duke of Cambridge Own' 'VIII BATTn' 'SOUTH AFRICA' and '1900 1902', which must relate to the Treaty of Vereeniging that ended the Boer War in 1902 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Treaty_of_Vereeniging The stonework at the top right hand corner of the building carries the date 1911, so that may have been when it was actually built. In 2014 Treaty House seems to be a hotel. See also Image and Image
