Staines Moor: Railway line to Windsor
The line was built in 1848 by the Windsor, Staines and South Western Railway, which was rapidly subsumed into the London & South Western Railway. Third rail electrification took place in 1930. The distant bridge takes Moor Lane over the railway.
If the planned AirTrack railway link from London Heathrow to Staines is built this is the point at which a junction will be constructed with the new railway peeling away to the right.
The photographer stopped, looked, and listened and satisfied himself that no trains were in sight in both directions before crossing the railway.
