Sunnymeads railway station (1)
Immediately after the First World War there was a great desire amongst Londoners to have their own little plot and retreat in the countryside, and numerous plotland developments took place along the River Thames. Sunnymeads, as the name might imply, was one such plotland, and in response to the demand the Southern Railway built this little station on their existing Windsor and Datchet branch line in 1926. This is the unattended station building at the end of Acacia Avenue, a private road. There are no parking facilities at all here, so access to the station is on foot only.
