Strawberry Hill House, Waldegrave Road, Richmond
Horace Walpole, the politician, writer and collector, created the house between 1748 and 1790 as his summer villa. It is one of the earliest and finest examples of the Gothic revival and much of it has now been restored and opened to the public.

The window of the Round Room, Strawberry Hill House, Richmond
The glass, with its rich display of coats of arms, dates from the 19th century, one of the additions made by Lady Waldegrave. The original house was created by Horace Walpole between 1748 and 1790 as his summer villa in the Gothic revival style.
