Gordon House
Seen, across the river from the Thames Path is Gordon House. Built in 1720 and altered about 1865, the house's interior contains a conference room, designed by Robert Adam as a drawing room for General Bland in 1758. It is probably Robert Adam's earliest surviving work in England and of the finest quality. The house was, from 1878 to 1976, the home of the Maria Grey Teacher Training College. See: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Maria_Grey_Training_College The house is listed, grade II*, with details at: https://www.historicengland.org.uk/listing/the-list/list-entry/1240076
