Stokesley railway station (site)
Opened in 1857 by the North Eastern Railway, this station on the former line from Picton to Battersby closed in 1954 to passengers, and completely in 1964. View east from the former level crossing. The platform for Battersby ran along the side of the buildings, the Picton platform was further to the right.

Site of old rail crossing at Stokesley
The building with 'The Station' sign would appear to be the same as the hotel/pub shown on old maps, which also show the railway line crossing at this point, but possibly by a bridge, according to old maps.

Phone Mast behind Mole Valley Stores
Mole took over Farmway a couple of years ago - the products on sale are practically the same from this National chain but it's a shame Farmway, a North East England based company are no more.
Two men were working on the mast when photo was taken.
The architecture of the shed on the left gives away that this was once a railway yard and small station.
Just to the North-West used to be a small Livestock Market.
