Marton West Beck goes underground in Fairy Dell
This photograph shows the point at which Marton West Beck 'disappears' under ground - and reappears about 130 yards beyond the point of disappearance. The beck goes into a 'grilled' culvert that can be seen just to the right of the centre of the picture - where the footpath swings round to the right.

A174 Trunk Road at Marton (view west)
The A174(T) road runs from the Stockton area (in the west) towards Redcar (in the east). At peak periods this road carries substantial volumes of traffic pass and towards the village of Marton. This photograph was taken from the bridge at Marton (on the A172 road) looking in an westerly direction towards Stockton-on-Tees.

A174(T) - flow merging of traffic on the west-bound slip road at Marton
The merging arrangement shown here allows traffic from the direction of Middlesbrough (right-hand lane) to merge with traffic from Marton (left-hand lane) as it joins the A174 Trunk road from the A172. Marton road bridge is just to the right of where this photograph was taken.
