This was the site of Billingham Station before it was moved in the 1960s nearer the town centre. The train in the distance about to go under Wolviston Road bridge is bound for Middlesbrough.

Billingham 1st railway station (site), County Durham
Believed to have been opened by the Leeds Northern Railway in 1852 (needs confirmation) on the line from Leeds via Northallerton, this station closed in 1966 when it was replaced by the current station about a mile further east. View west towards Norton and Stockton. Taken from roughly the same position as Image] so as can be seen, no trace remains except for the NER bridge on which the camera is positioned.

Everything associated with the Station, including the Station Hotel, is still in situ.......except the Station itself which was moved to a site nearer the town centre in the 1960s.
