Believed to have been opened by the Leeds Northern Railway in 1852 (needs confirmation) on the line from Leeds via Northallerton, this station closed in 1966 when it was replaced by the current station about a mile further east. View west towards Norton and Stockton. Taken from roughly the same position as Image] so as can be seen, no trace remains except for the NER bridge on which the camera is positioned.
