South Durham Hunt (1974)
The traditional Boxing Day hunt crossing the Sedgefield racecourse opposite Queen's Drive. 30yrs on their spoil-sport MP (and PM) was to ban the spectacle.

Sedgefield Cricket Ground, Station Road
Cricket has been played at the Station Road ground in Sedgefield for over 100 years and at present there are three senior teams playing cricket in the North Yorkshire and South Durham League. The ground was presented to the club in 1955 by Captain Edward Ramsden M.C. formerly of Sand's Hall, Sedgefield.

Ivy House, Station Road, Sedgefield
The small housing estate of Dunelm Court was built on the site of Ivy House which was in 1861 one of the first purpose-built work-houses in the country. It was demolished in 1992 and the terrace facing Station Road was rebuilt in the style of the original Ivy House frontage in 1993.
