Hornet at platform 1, Penzance railway station
On Saturday June 4th 2016, the Direct Rail Services locomotive 68017 Hornet is at one end of a charter train. Her sister locomotive 68016 Fearless http://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/5016181 is at the opposite end of the 300 metre long train. The locomotives are members of Class 68 which combines very low axle loads of less than 20 tons with high power and high speed. Fitted with an 2800 kW diesel engine, the locomotive can reach speeds of 160 kph (100 mph). The chocolate and cream coach is named Glamis.

Mount Royal Hotel on Chyandour Cliff, Penzance
Chyandour Cliff is the main road into the centre of Penzance, separated from the coast by the railway which is at a lower level. We stayed at this Bed and Breakfast hotel for 4 nights and enjoyed the stay. Very convenient for railway and bus stations, so we parked the car and didn't use it till we left.
