Vicarage Entrance Door, Paignton Parish Church
Ivy overhangs the old gateway and wooden door. Information on a plaque states: "Site of Paignton's ancient market and fair held annually until nineteenth century under a charter granted by King Edward 1st 1294 revived Whitsun 1954"

Bishop's Palace [4]
In a corner of the churchyard of the parish church are the ruins of the chapel of the palace. The walls and tower are probably 14th century and would have enclosed and protected the buildings within. Parish church [4]
A 12th century door has been re-set into the 15th century tower. The large church of St John the Baptist has its origins in the 12th century and some work remains. There were alterations in the 13th century and extensive alterations and additions in the 15th century including the tower. Restored in 1864. The church has some fine fittings including an outstanding late 15th century chantry chapel. Listed, grade I, with details at: https://historicengland.org.uk/listing/the-list/list-entry/1195097

Ancient Wall, Bishop's Palace, Paignton
A small car park opposite this old wall is busy and traffic emerging from it has to take care from a flow of traffic past a blind corner, hence the mirror shown in this image.
